The woman, identified as an Infosys employee, was rescued too late by alert bystanders, firefighters, and emergency services. Neeva, the ad-free, privacy-focused search engine founded by ex-Google employees, is shutting down

  Neeva , previously positioned as a rival to Google Search, revealed on Saturday that it would be closing down its search engine. The co-founders, Sridhar Ramaswamy and Vivek Raghunathan, who played significant roles in Google’s transformation into an advertising powerhouse, were the driving forces behind this search engine. In a blog post announcing the closure, Ramaswamy and Vivek Raghunathan stated that the challenge of convincing users to pay for a superior experience was comparatively easier than persuading them to try a new search engine in the first place. They highlighted the difficulty of attracting new users in a different economic climate as a major obstacle in sustaining their business operations.

Oracle to layoff 3,500 employees

  Oracle , a prominent player in the cloud industry, has allegedly terminated the employment of more than 3,000 individuals within the electronic healthcare records company Cerner, which it obtained for a substantial sum of $28.4 billion. According to an Insider report, which relies on accounts from current and former employees, Oracle recently implemented a halt on salary raises and promotions. Additionally, the company reportedly carried out extensive layoffs within the unit, even as recently as this month. These actions took place following the completion of the acquisition in June of last year. It is important to highlight that the acquisition of Cerner resulted in the addition of approximately 28,000 employees to Oracle.

Despite quarterly revenue growth last year, LinkedIn with its 20,000 employees, follows its parent company and other significant tech firms in downsizing their workforce due to the weakened global economic outlook. This information comes from Reuters. LinkedIn generates revenue through advertising sales and subscriptions purchased by recruiters and sales professionals who use the platform to locate potential employees. In a letter to employees, CEO Ryan Roslansky explained that the company’s reducing workforce was intended to simplify its operations and eliminate bureaucratic layers to facilitate faster decision-making.
